Designed by Maija and Kristina Isola in 1964, when floral prints were forbidden by Marimekko founder Armi Ratia, Maalaisruusu (country rose) has stood the test of time and is considered a Marimekko classic. A single rose with green and white petals is repeated across the yardage of pale grey fabric, with a light blue stem and leaves providing an unexpected burst of color. One repeat equals two rows of roses.
