More about Marimekko Rautasänky Cream/Purple Upholstery Fabric Climb a ladder of impressive design with Marimekko’s Rautasänky fabric. Designed by Maija Isola in 1961, she was intrigued with the power of simplified designs and dedicated her talents to investigating this side of textile art. In using a simple repeating arch-shaped strokes joined by vertical lines, Isola created an interesting ladder-like design which is bursting with movement. The cream background allows the rich purple brush strokes to stand out and add to the graphic nature of this one-of-a-kind print.
